The Will of God

The "will of God" is often misunderstood to be some written in stone type of plan by God for our lives.  But the Greek word that we often translate "will" actually means "pleasure."  So when we read "will of God" we actually should be reading "the pleasure of God."

Ephesians 5:10 says, "try to find out what pleases God."  This passage is crucial to understanding the will of God.  It demonstrates the effort that should be exerted on our part (try to find out).  There are some other passages that you can read as well to help you come to grips with this incredible biblical principle.

Write out in the space provided after each verse, what you have observed about the will or pleasure of God in that passage.
